Seasoned Canadian Songstress melts reviewer's heart Reviewed

I think I'm falling in love with Sarah McLachlan. Not in an obsessive, restraining order sort of a way, more like a high school crush thing. I've been listening to this album for the past two weeks and I can't get her voice out of my head. I mean it's not like I've only now discovered her, I knew who she was a few years ago but maybe I finally get it.
My ignorance probably stems from the period where it seemed every second artist had a song about Angels. In fact for the collectors out there, I cut my own 45 record around that time called, 'This Song Refers To Angels', credited to my stage name: Stu Daniel & The Sockhops. But enough about my Doo Wop phase
It's been just over half a decade since Sarah's 'Surfacing' album and much has changed. While she has discovered the joys of motherhood, upstarts have attempted to fill the void. English lasses with names that rhyme with Fido have captured the hearts of many with soothing melodies and trendy turns as samples on tracks by angry white rappers.
But the lady that kicked the 'women in rock' movement into overdrive with the Lilith Fair Music Festival, has returned with a solid album that outstrips Dido's latest effort in every facet. The brilliant opener and first single 'Fallen' tells of the realisation of the mistake's she made. In true independent spirit she states: "Don't come around here and tell me I told you so."
On 'Stupid' she rocks out slightly, coming off as a cross between the Corrs and Evanessence and somehow making it work well. Speaking of being blind to bad love, you can't help but notice a pattern starting to develop. But it isn't all doom and gloom. 'Train Wreck' is her looking for that special someone who can make it all better again.
After nearly 15 years in the game, you realise that McLachlan knows what she is speaking about when it comes to love and relationships. For that, her songs are instantly honest and passionate, which is why I am so in love with that voice.
