TCM keep the solid work coming Reviewed

Without them, electronic music would have a black hole in it the shape of a guitar - they're the Crystal Method from L.A., and the "Legion of Boom" is their 3rd studio release in a decade of partnership. Following on from 2001's "Tweekend" (which spawned the club hits "Name of the Game" and "Murder"), they apply much the same formula to create another big beat feast.
Famous for beefing up their progressive dance with powerful spines of electric guitar and addictive bass-ridden hooks, their sound is unmistakable - especially on lead single "Born too Slow", featuring vocals from former Kyuss frontman John Garcia. The energy of instrumentation is only matched on "Weapons of Mass Distortion", as both tracks owe credit to former Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland.
Lisa Kekaula (of the Bellrays) lends her familiar voice to a few tracks, (Basement Jaxx's "Good Luck" tapped the same resource) as does 'gun for hire' Hanifah Walidah (who has been known to work with Alexkid). Rahzel contributes on both "Starting Over" and "The American Way", rounding out a solid array of vocal styles.
The album is not as awe-inspiring as their debut "Vegas", probably due to the fact they tend to experiment a little more with semi-ambient sounds and less progressive builds. However, the feature tracks have more than enough punch to create an overall powerful sonic experience. Movie trailers and commercials love a good Crystal Method track, and there's no doubt we'll see them used in the near future.
Anyone who says that The Crystal Method don't deliver electronic gold on each release is an idiot. There, I said it. Now who's up for a drink?
