 Summary:
Introspective music for the intelligent listener Reviewed
By: Tess
You know that something special has come your way as soon as the beautiful and unusual CD case falls into your hands.
Listening to Slick will take you on a wonderful, introspective journey through life, love and universal dilemmas. Anyone who is human will identify with the heartfelt lyrics and arousing instrumentation- it is so accessible. You will arrive at the end of the album a little wiser and then you will want to play it all over again to enjoy that feeling of clarity and belonging.
With inspiration from Joy Division, The Cure and The Smiths, every introspective, intelligent music lover needs to own this alternative rock/pop album. Passionate vocals, soaring guitars, unconventional drumming, some enviable synthesised creations and most importantly unbound enthusiasm from five great guys makes this the album I have been most excited about in a few years.
Originating from the happening Swedish music scene, United have already supported Placebo on their previous tour at Brixton Academy; it is only a matter of time until we see a lot more of these guys. Look out for them! |
