Demonstrates her lyrical prowess Reviewed

Being a female rap artist attempting to make head way in the male dominated industry is difficult in its own right and because rap music is often openly misogynistic (though I am not condemning the entire genre, there are exceptions, i.e. Common) it limits the potential material they can utilize when compared to their male counterparts.
In other words, it is seldom we hear any self-denigrating rap music. And for many intricate reasons, both social and cultural, a woman who is sexually explicit is by association, self-denigrating. So when one considers what comprises a bulk majority of mainstream rap music (Think Snoop, Ying Yang Twins, etc.), it is understandably a rare occurrence that the rap industry produces notable female artists.
This brings us to SHEE, someone attempting to deter the external community from the pre-conceived notion that rap music is frequently one dimensional. An up and coming female rapper based out of New York, Her cleverly entitled Vaginal Erections demonstrates her lyrical prowess as she articulates multiple personal and social urban dilemmas over an eclectic range of stylized instrumentals.
One of the most refreshing facets of SHEE's music is its grittiness. In a world filled with Nelly's and Fat Joe's, it is encouraging to hear a rap artist's music so...unpolished, but in a good way. SHEE has already developed a reputable name for her on the New York scene, and is now attempting to broaden her fan base. If you enjoy hip-hop music and are eager too hear a culmination of original production and innovative lyrics you should definitely check SHEE out.
