I parted ways with Live a few years ago, an amicable agreement you could say. I realized they were now releasing sub standard turgid records and they were happy to let me spit my dummy elsewhere, as long as it wasn't anywhere near their pile of sub standard records. Fair deal all said.
However I have returned to the fold, not to embrace the band once more but to save the rest of you. "Why do I need saving?" you may exclaim. If you need to ask that question you may be well beyond saving I'm afraid.
Put simply, you should not have to part with your hard earned scratch for half assed music. I once accused Live of phoning in their last record (2003s Birds Of Pray). As for their current masterpiece Songs From Black Mountain (epic in name but not in execution), I believe Ed and the boys quit music a while ago and some studio whiz (no doubt the guy behind the posthumous Tupac recordings) has patched together strands of past studio sessions and passed it off as something shiny and new.
You want something to purchase? How about picking up Throwing Copper or Secret Samadhi again? No doubt your original copies are worn out by now.
